<VV> gas heater- thanks

Thank you all for your replies about the gas heaters,

Based on what I learned today I don't want one (expensive to fix!) and if I
get my hands on one I'll sell it!

I passed on the car today, but just barely.  Another buyer showed up and he
was willing to pay more than I was....  For what I'd have had to pay it
might have been a good deal and it might not, depending on what I found when
I checked out the gas heaters condition and how well the engine ran/drove...
the value would have been mostly in the heater and spare parts that were
included... the car had a great floor, rockers, doglegs etc. but the
windshield and backlite channels were a mess.  The interior was "almost"
nice, but nearly every panel had one small but major defect.

I'll tell my dad that a gas heater isn't worth the trouble (unless we use an
aftermarket or VW one we can get cheap).
