Speaking as a promotor, who is involved in many shows to benefit various fire halls and other charitable organiszations, all not for profit.
Anyone willing to pay an entry fee and display a vehicle is alright in my book.
Last show I was involved in was for a fire hall in Newfane , NY.
There is a guy who shows up every year with 4 cars, A 60 Buick convertible, a 40's Plymouth, a 39? Ford, and a mid 60's Buick, all with faded paint, pitted chrome, worn interiors, dents, dings, scratches, and maybe a little rust here and there. He pays 4 entry fees to support the fire company, and there IS a survivor class, and he generally takes home at least one of the awards. But guess what? There are no other representations of those specific years, and the people flock to those cars and enjoy them a lot.

My Greenbrier, has severely faded paint, several scratches.
More often than not, I'm the only Greenbrier there, and the people seem happy I am there.
Tomorrow I am headed out to a huge car show, taking the Brier, I may or may not wash it............
I'm going to have a good time, and I bet it is the only Greenbrier there.
I really don't give a rat's hairy behind about any awards.
Driving there is most of the fun, enjoying the day, and the comments I get about the van.

There are many out there who are economically challenged, but love the cars, the people, and want to participate.
What's wrong with that?

I could take one of the "show" cars, but sometimes, just need to excercise one of the other play toys...........
