<VV> Choke Coil VS Pull Off - was ambient

Lonzo has it right.

The coil (when cold (cool?)) allows the choke plate to close.  Normally, 
before turning the key to start position, the operator gently pushes the 
skinny pedal to the floor and gently releases.  This "sets" the choke to 
closed (or nearly so) position and the coil is tightly wound at that time. 
There is an adjustable rod through the head connecting the coil to the carb. 
As the coil warms it expands and allows the pull off to do it's job.

The pull off is controlled by vacuum.  They do go bad and can be tested 
easily by pushing the metal tab on the back in and then covering the plastic 
hose connector with your finger and releasing the metal tab.  If it comes 
back out, the diaphragm inside is NG and the pull off needs to be replaced.

Adjustments are in the LM Chassis manual at 6M-6 and 7.  I did not look up 
the page number in the EM manual, but they are there too.
