Can't you polish it more to get the bright chrome finish? Maybe a Dremel or 
 similar tool might help.
 
I have a machine shop contact if someone does want to see about getting  
some made.

cookies.  Having both, the plastic and aluminum bezels, I  installed the
aluminum one as it is the correct shape.  It would be  perfect if it had a
bright chrome finish.  As it is, it's like a satin  finish.
