All this talk of Amsoil, any suggestions on how/where to buy it for the best 
price?  There is a sign in front of a house locally indicating that he is an 
Amsoil dealer but I'm so used to local prices being highway robbery that I 
hesitate to even call him until I get a price online.

Last month the local LP company that services our house tried to sell me a 
torpedo heater for $169.00... I drove home and looked up the identical unit 
on Amazon.com...  $99.00 shipped.  This is a locally owned business not a 
national chain.

Also these synthetics are not cheap stuff....  can anyone tell me what the 
CHEAPEST oil is (specific oil by part number preferred) that will provide 
good service in my Corvairs without any additives (no adding ZDDP)?  Does 
the long life of the Synthetic come close to balancing the cost... I mean 
how long do we "really" want to leave it in the car before draining it?
