The latest problem on this ill fated adventure is my processor keeps
overheating and shutting the computer down.
My son came to run diagnostics.
So far:
I cannot copy the file to DVD
Cannot upload to utube.
Cannot run it through downsizing software.
Whatever I do, it overheats the processor and the computer shuts down.
We even had the top off the computer, with a fan blowing on it.
Worse part is, all things indicate we are not even using a fraction of the
processors capacity.
Once in process of using this file though, processor heats up.
This computer has done everything we had intended it to do when my son built
it.
Can copy and rip a full length DVD, but this ION VCR2PC creates a mpeg file
so large it cannot be dealt with.
My son was able to download it into his portable hard drive, to take it home
and try from his computer.
Using my son's portable hard drive, he downloaded them into my computer and
used my computer to make me copies of 2 full length movies he ripped from
DVD's, and it burned them fine.
Also in my computer, I had already downloaded the DC concours, autocross,
and toy display too.
And it is stuck in limbo.
Worse case scenario, I may need a larger processor, or an updated heat
sink?????
In the meantime, if he gets it uploaded, I will post links to it.
I had to get away from this and watch the Daytona 500 anyways.
I needed a break!
