I specifically asked American collectors insurance about going to out of
state shows where the vehicle would be my only transportation. And yes, the
entire convention would be considered transportation and attending a show.
Of course, there would be no coverage for damage incurred during a
competitive event like an autocross.
But I wonder if coverage during a rally or economy run would also be
precluded.

I've driven my Corvair to several conventions over the years.
And notified my company that due to this I would most likely "go over" my
mileage limit.
They assured me, not a problem, as I notified them ahead of time that it
would happen.
Also, they have to be informed of "off residence" storage.
