Not in my experience with a '68 110 PG and a '68 110 4speed.  Because  you 
have the timing etc. set to spec. then the normal other gremlins should be  
sorted.  Use premium fuel as specified, check for rich mixture,  
out-of-adjustment choke pull offs, fuel leaks, vacuum leaks, carb balance at  idle and 
at mid throttle etc.
