<VV> thermostat thought

I recently replaced the thermostat bellows which lasted 46 years and  
256,000 miles in my VW Bug!  I threw the old one away, but now just  realized 
that it looks exactly like the thermostat I got new from a  supplier for my 
Corvair.  Without removing mine and comparing, does anyone  know if they really 
are the same and who the VW supplier may be?.  It may  be a different way 
to get bellows.  Mine was given to me by a VW  person I met in a restaurant, 
and he said they were available--but I didn't  think to find out where?
