When I worked at DHL at the CVG Airport the aircraft parts department kept beeswax on hand for the zippers on the "smoke curtain" used on the DC-8 & A-300. They could only use 100% beeswax, no parafin based stuff.... I've never used it on screws, but I  keep a bar of soap inthe toolbox for scraping the screw threads on.
Corvair content: It was while I was working @ CVG that I met "Econoline Tim", a FedEX driver, who happened to stop to check out my Greenbrier... About 1999 or 2000.
