<VV> Corsa 140 noises

Gents...Thanks to VV and everyone who responded and the tips.after
disconnecting the fan belt and checking, turns out to be the alternator was
the culprit making the terrific noise!!!...problem now is getting the "rear"
bolt out to replace the generator..can't get a socket on it as one side is
flush with the shroud..any suggestions or tips would again be appreciated
