<VV> Convertible Rear Window

to unzip the rear window before lowering the top.  I had always heard
that the zipper is never to be unzipped under penalty of death.  It is a
trap which will unleash the hounds of hell if touched.

Does anyone routinely unzip their rear window without ill effects?
