Received this addendum from larry claypool.
For the incognizant, TSB is Technical Service Bulletin.

<Hi bill
An addendum to my earlier email.
I dug out my 1962 TSB’s to look over at lunch time and found the answer I
was looking for.
The march 9, 1962 letter from Chevrolet to all dealers details the soon to
be in production spyder package and it’s costs.
It includes this statement: “air conditioning and special crankcase
ventilation cannot be obtained with RPO 690.”
Therefore unless somebody has documentation to the contrary , it appears
all 62 spyders continued to use a road draft tube, even ones delivered in
California. Chevy probably got a waiver just like they did later for the 66
turbos.
