<VV> staples on LM engine to body seals

I just recently replaced the seal on a 65 convertible.  And, as Matt and
Timothy have already pointed out, the seal was indeed stapled to the metal
strips.  I have no idea if they did it to all cars at the factory, some cars
at different locations, or if it was done at a later time when someone
replaced the original.  But the seal was stapled to the metal strips.  Maybe
not a bad idea considering what a PITA those things are to get on.
