Tim, I'll take your word for it. If I ever saw them, it was so long ago
that I don't recall that.
I CAN see that the staple approach might have made the factory assembly go a
little more quickly since it is a little tricky to get the rubber edge
positioned just right into the upper (eight or so?) retainer pieces.
