I think what Cal is doing is fantastic.  He will understand the construction of the vehicle like no other. The great thing about doing a rusty vehicle is that you can get rid of ALL the rust and have a solid vehicle with no rust lurking in some dark recess to pop up in a few years.   A bit crazy yes, but alot of satisfaction in knowing it is done right.  Go, Cal.
