 As with anything that's 'different', you're going to get a LOT of myths and folklore based on absolutely nothing than the fear of that which isn't mainstream. As any Corvair owner will tell ya!!

Ok, I have to speak up in defense of the Volt.  I hope everyone realizes that in 
spite if the media hoopla Volts are not spontaneously combusting.  After a major 
accident like sliding into a telephone pole and rolling over, the battery pack 
may have an issue.  I suspect that nobody who crashes their vehicle to that 
extent is going to subsequently park it in their garage.  All this information 
is available to anyone who takes the time to google the issue.  Ok, corvair 
content, I'd love to build an electric corvair some day!
