<VV> coil voltage (stock)

Voltage right? Maybe, but not relevant.
We're not dealing with a true DC voltage with the engine running here. The
idea of 6-7 volts at the + terminal is with the engine NOT running, and the
points closed.
My comments were related to the possibility of bad dwell or dirty (oxidized)
points.

So the voltage is about right? If so I'll definitely check the points
next... I actually have a dwell meter and checked it recently... it was off
about 2 degrees from perfect I think.
Thanks!

Sounds like a points issue...if your using points...

Hiya guys,
Today the 63' started acting up again (stumbling and quit once) and I'm
beginning to suspect that the coil is getting cooked. I checked voltage
going into the coil with the engine at idle and at about 2k RPM. I got 10.4
at idle and 11.1 at 2,000RPM... Do I remember correctly that it should be
much lower? If I recall it should be 7 volts or so? Assuming this is
higher than it should be I'll just run a new wire from the firewall and put
a new resistor in, I might even have one laying around if I can find it.
Thanks
