Well - my drive was 1350 miles from San Jose, California. At least  four 
major mountain passes on my trip. 7500 ft Soldier Summit, 8640 ft  Sherman 
Hill, 7056 ft Donner Summit and 11,158 ft Eisenhower Tunnel. I don't  know how 
many would subject their Corvair to those hot climbs in late July.  I know I 
wouldn't, and I didn't. And I'm crazy.
