<VV> viton o-rings, oil smoke

I'd venture a guess and say if you mean  the "top engine shroud", then it more than likely is leaking at the top block cover seal.  That allows oil to get to the hot jugs. It could be, too, that a base gasket sprung a leak.  It shouldn't be that hard to track down.  Just tedious and an afternoon's work.  But more than likely its not the viton o-rings.  Let us know what you find.
