Forgive me if I am wrong, but by the sound of some of the replies here I
feel like some people maybe aren't aware that the "trick" for cleaning out
the idle jet that I'm going to attempt is for doing so without disassembling
the carb or pulling a plug at all. I don't know enough to be sure, but it
sorta sounds to me like some of these replies assume I have better access to
the passage i.e.- the plug pulled.
I tried finding the wire again today but didn't see anything that made me
feel confident enough to spend any $ to bring it home. I think I'll first
take a micrometer and check every piece of wire I have on hand to see what
is closest.. then try that. What I have is a pair of "rebuilt" carbs I got
on ebay a year or so ago that have all new parts in them but won't idle AT
ALL. If I can make them work they go back to having been a bargain, if not
they were a ripoff! I'm not very familiar with carbs, I know the very basic
theory, but that is about it.
