SL sounds good, but you want SL in a weight that's good for a Corvair.  Factory manual says 10W-30.

FWIW, my next purchase of Mobil 1 will be their 5W-40 Turbo Diesel version.  No, it doesn't matter that it says 'diesel', it's also rated for gasoline engines.
