We're all CORSA!

Maybe the Homecoming and the Roundup needs to appoint a CORSA liaison Chair
when organizing the event the duties of this person would be to:
Secure a spot in a high traffic area.
Arrange for a table or two and canopy if needed.
Recruit some people to staff the table
Contact the CORSA office and request promotional material
Organize the material

The table doesn't need to be open all the time, just during the car shows
and when there is a good chance non CORSA members will be around.

I know it can be done, I did it at a few Tri-State meets, the mini in Cedar
Rapids and at least one at Palm Springs. I wasn't even part of the group
putting the events on except for the some of the Tri-States.

These are a couple of really good points. Every year the Detroit Area
Corvair Club hosts a well attended venture we call the Homecoming. Our
registration desk has CORSA membership forms and our people recommend
joining. Frequently there will be someone from CORSA come to the Homecoming
... Now we really do not need a tent BUT why does CORSA not see to it that
we are supplied with their promotional material? Should they not recruit
volunteers to represent CORSA for lots of these events all over the country?
It is not like they are unaware of these regularly scheduled events. After
all, not everyone attending these events is also a CORSA member.

Tim,

If the purpose of the tent is to attract new members, why is it being used
at the convention sites, almost exclusively? Seems like preaching to the
choir to me.

Just returned from the Great Plains Corvair Roundup in Tulsa. Not a single
sign of an organization called CORSA, except for the shirt my wife wore to
the banquet. We had lots of folks wander though the parking lot and even
entered in the event that were interested in Corvairs but not members of
local little less the national club.

Forget the heavy tent. How about if CORSA were to send some membership
pamphlets, like "10 reasons to own a Corvair," to the chapters that
advertise
events in the Communique.
