With the inestimable help of Ron Tinkham in Maine, my '66 Monza 110/4
will receive a new bolted flywheel this Thursday.
Three years ago, the P.O. paid for the installation of a new
clutch/pressure plate from Clarks. At the time, the flywheel did not
make any noise so unfortunately, he decided not to have it replaced at
that time.
Ron lives about 2.5 hrs SW of me - at least it is that far once I take
the 1.5 hr ferry trip to the mainland. I look forward to learning a lot
from him and I know the day working together will be highly
entertaining. The Monza has continued to run quite well during the time
it's needed the flywheel, so I'm hoping that I can get there without
doing any major damage to any engine components.
Thanks to Ron, I also received a list of "while you're in there" parts
for replacement, and hopefully, we won't find the need to replace any
others.
Wish me luck!
