Guys,
Reading this thread reminds me of my problem. I put a new cable into my 65 500 (with 67 column). With the cable routed over the under-column pulley and running (at an outward angle) back to the P-brake handle; the top of the clutch pedal abrades the cable. If I actually have the P-brake set; there is substantial interference - enough to break the cable in short order.
Is there any difference in P-brake handles (PG vs manual - as far as cable attachment)? My other 65 has the cable running almost straight back - with no clearance issues.
Thanks,
Andy K.

My 1967 with correct parts has no clearance issues, but I'm not sure what
you man by the cable routed over the under-column pulley, since my right
most pulley (directly off the p-bake handle, is above the column - see pix :
www.yourbuyersinn.com/Cars/Corvair/1967MonzaParkBrakeOperation.htm

www.yourbuyersinn.com/Cars/Corvair/1967MonzaParkBrakeInstallation.htm

Mine is nearly exactly like the drawing in the first link ...

Oops - Charlie is right; the pulley is above the column.

By the recent postings on Charles car's parking brake troubble, I think he learnt all the necessary to fix it but, there is something I learnt from Charles troubble on his car's parking brake and it were all the pictures he took, edit and upload to show us, pictorially his concerns.

I think that fixing a parking brake cable is easier than documenting the questions the way he did. Good job Charles !!

As I recall, the box is advertised as 16:1, and that was supposed to match the stock quick box ratio. Turns lock to lock depends on the steering arms.

I'd include 30 cents (retail) worth of nuts on the premise that people
would
probably replace them, and I'd eat the 30 cents (which is more like 12
cents
wholesale)

The PR is worth the 12 cents IMHO, but that's just me. I'd go out of
business if I gave away 12 cents on a $30 sale, I guess ?
