David: Hummmm.....

May I suggest there are other Corvair owners in the UK. I say that as I
occasional see Corvairs mentioned in both Classis & Sportscar and
Thoroughbred & Classic Cars, and occasionally we get a posting on v-v from a
Corvair owner from over there.

So, why don't you do a letters to editor to those two magazines with a
request to hear from other Corvair owners, with the possibility of starting
a UK chapter of CORSA.

There are a couple clubs on the other side of the English channel which get
mentioned in the Communique on occasion. You might also contact them.

Mark Corbin, and those who argue for maintaining CORSA, ( rather than going
to an all-electronic, relying upon forums, etcetera), are absolutely
correct.

As a Brit, who pays his CORSA dues, but can avail himself of almost NONE of
the facilities and advantages that most of you people benefit from, dare I
suggest that you quite simply do not know how lucky you are to have an
organization which pulls together Corvair owners and their local clubs.

Here, there are NO local clubs. Hardly ANY other Corvairs. I don't know of
a SINGLE other Corvair owner in the whole of Britain. I cannot tell you just
how much I would love to be able to meet up with a few other Corvair owners
now and again.

I am staggered to see people bellyaching on the forum about the cost of
membership. Of course, most of you good people get your membership, and all
of its benefits, a darned sight cheaper than I do. I pay a lot more.

One cannot purchase a pack of cigarettes, or a single bottle of beer, for
the cost of one-weeks CORSA membership. What is the average price of a
packet of cigarettes in the USA? About $7? I never drank, but what does a
single beer cost, bottled or draught, in the USA?

How I envy you people having your local clubs, and CORSA as a 'parent'
organization.

I had to pay $200 just for shipping for a set of rocker panels from one of
the vendors in the US.

I don't bellyache, but I will feel like doing so if the grumblers and
whingers, who get far, far more out of CORSA than I possibly can, finally
put paid to CORSA. Doubtless it has its faults and problems. It surely
cannot be beyond the wit and ken of members to rectify them.
