Similar to putting wheels on NASCAR and Indy cars ?

Yes and No, Charlie - No racing body uses a tool that fastens more than
one lug nut at once. Almost all real racing cars, besides NASCAR, uses
single-nut retaining methods, with pins to locate the wheel. IRL, F1, most other
formula cars, too. Some systems have a type of lock that snaps out to
retain that wheel nut. Even so, wheels do come off, even in mega-bucks Formula 1
racing. NASCAR uses five nuts per wheel, with special studs in the hub that
have the threads removed for the first inch or so. New lug nuts are glued
to the replacement wheel in the proper position. When the cars pit, the air
gun guy removes all the existing lug nuts one at a time - but very quickly
- and the old wheel is removed. When the tire guy pushes on the new
wheel/tire, the lug nuts pop free of the wheel and hang on the unthreaded tip of
the stud. The air-gun guy zips each lug nut down tight, one at a time, and
goes to the next tire/wheel. It is impressive, like watching a ballet -
or maybe more like a line dance! <grin>
