Harry, if you are thinking of removing the floor panel above the 
transaxle, do not make the mistake that virtually every other FC owner 
makes!  You must first go under the van and release the heater 
distribution box from the underside of that panel.  If you just take out 
the clutch head bolts and pry the panel up from above, there goes the 
brittle plastic duct to which the heater is fastened.

Frankly, I'd leave that panel right where it is and service whatever you 
need to service from below.
