Tony, & Timothy,
I think it depends on what he (TS) means by "big bolts"... the 65 heads had a mix of big & small bolts along the top holding the top shroud on... the 66 & later had one size bolt (all big)...
I also don't think it would have been sitting around that long... my "first week of June" 64 700 has an engine dated May 22... just two weeks... and it is the original 95 hp.....
I gotta get some rest... been a long day.
Later,
Lonzo

I just picked up a '65 Monza 4 door (Free-you know what it looks
like). This car has a tag on the inside of the front carpet that
says "January 19,1965". The engine deck lid emblem is 110. The
engine code is "T1109RH". This engine also has the big bolt heads. I
am wondering if this may be the original engine for this car?

ost likely.

Did Chevrolet have an engine sitting around for a couple of months
before they mated it to the car?

ep.

Did any '65's come equipped with the big bolt heads? Anyone?

ll '65 Corvairs I ever saw had the big bolt heads.

This car also came equipped with the Evening Orchard paint which
still looks quite nice (on the inside of the trunk lid).

s it saveable?   Lately it seems that 4-doors are getting scarce;
obody seems to be saving any of them anymore.

tony..
