The "Release Agent" that is made by 3M will not harm your paint.  It  is 
designed just for this purpose.  FLAPS may not have it, but it is  readily 
available at auto paint supply shops.  Ten to fifteen minutes tops  to remove 
trunk and engine compartment weatherstripping without any scraping and  
without harming the weatherstripping (or paint).
