Yes, if you have the needed paper cutting skills -- maybe your wife 
could help, especially if she is "crafty", like scrapbooking or such.  
Some of these hobby crafts require extensive (and expensive, dahik) tooling.

Paper, cardboard, linoleum, sheet cork, sheet copper, etc all make good 
gaskets, if you can make them
