You could  send it to a machine shop to have them fully inspect and prep it for you.

No, it means "file it" in accordance with my instructions, gently drag
a fine flat file until bump is gone, if you made slight marks, polish
them out with something finer than 1000 grit, I use 1500, until gone,
then move on. Put it back together. Mark Durham
