Well, Allen, I'll stick by what I saw in '05 - and yes, I very much knew
that walking away from the car was going to prove regrettable in the future.
I forgot to interject one other factor in my not taking the car. D.
Clemens was well into building my present '69 coupe for me and there were
impending bills to pay associated with that. I believe I took delivery of it
in April '05.

Possible litigation?
(a) I made no libelous comment about you. More so that I regret not
pulling the trigger when I knew I should have. I certainly respect your
astute judgement in purchasing the car.

(b) I made no derrogatory comment about the car. Only my observations of
what could clearly be seen on a clear day by anyone with decent vision.
Incidentally, I forgot one thing that I saw with the car and which D.
LaPorte and I had brief conversation. I believe it was in the area of the left
front fender. There was some slight waviness evident. I can't remember
what David's response was, but he acknowledged that it was there.

Of course, any and all of the imperfections on that 39 yr. old car could
obviously be cleared up via a tiny percentage investment - relative to your
current asking price.

As for the veto power of my wife in my car dealings, I won't fault her to
any great extent on that, because it's far from a "do it and I'll want a
divorce" situation. (there are 13 tagable vehicles here at our home) Fact
is, she is very much a car girl. Been to SCCA Run-offs with me, also, many
auto auctions, flea markets, Endurance races, World-of-Outlaws, F1 races,
autocrosses, track days, car club meetings, to Italy on an exotic car group
tour, to Infineon Raceway, Moroso, Sebring, Daytona, Road Atlanta,
Homestead, St. Pete Indy cars, F1 at Indy, AMA Superbike races, Barber Raceway,
Mosport, Laguna Seca, Roebling Road, CORSA Conventions, etc., and her second
car is a '64 Monza convertible. I think it's more that she still sees the
stock market and real estate as "real" investments.

Oh, and I weighed about 175 when I drove your car and I remember making a
mental note that I would have to get another seat or have that one shored
up. I also remember D. LaPorte as a slightly built guy.

As for my knowledge of Stingers, it is rudimentary; but the value comes
primarily from the Yenko name and low build numbers anyway. The cars are
actually not radically modified from stock Corsa's. I'm just saying that I
have owned many Corvairs - off and on, over the last 45 years and have a
reasonable knowledge of their
construction and values.

So, Corvair appreciation is something that I am all for, and I hope that
your sale gives it just another little upward boost.

Joe Dunlap
