<VV> Removing piston connecting rod caps ?

I'm reading up on engine repair since I've never done this before, and
learning to use 'plastigage' to see what size bearings I might need.
#1 and #3 piston connecting rod caps had come off quite easily (see earlier
posts) and just needed love taps to
free them so I could remove them.
I'm removing #5 and it doesn't want to budge, and won't play nice like the
others.
What is the best way to coax the caps off if they give me trouble, without
damaging the cap, journal or bearing ?
