The last American vehicle I purchased was a 2006 Dodge Ram Truck. Don't
even get me started on how sorry this thing is. Prior to that I drove Fords
and GMs regularly. Due to the quality of these cars I started driving
German made cars in the late 90s and now drives BMWs exclusively (other than
the need for a truck to pull my car trailer). My Z4 was built in SC and is
superior in quality to any American Car I have owned (including a Corvette
and a Cadillac CTS.) I credit that with the fact hat the Germans take pride
in the quality of their vehicles and GM, Ford and Dodge seem to not care
near as much.
If it got down to a Chrysler or GM product or walking, I would probably
choose to walk as I plan to never let either of those products in my
driveway ever again. Ford on the other hand is starting to come back IMO
and I will be replacing my Dodge truck with a new Ford Super Duty soon. As
far as passenger cars, I will stick with BMW until I see a need to choose
another marque.
