Tim, I am also very concerned about this trend that we are seeing in the
corvair hobby. Will we be able to peak the interest of enough young people
to keep the hobby going. I have a 17 year old son that has been driving a 69
corvair for about a year now. He is very mechanical but shows no interest in
working on the car and would like to have something newer. I'm afraid the
car will go to the convention to be sold in a month. Seems kids these days
just want to turn the key and go. I am constantly pondering on this problem
and just yesterday I sent press releases to the three major news networks to
try to get them to come to the convention and do a story. Hopefully a little
national exposure will help the cause. I think Corvair Heritage Day could
help also, especially if we all try and get newspapers and local television
stations to do stories that day. This is a problem we all need to work on
together, and together I think we can solve it.
