Smitty Says; until a couple of weeks ago I would have thought the donuts at the exhaust ports would have been the most likely source of exhaust in the heater. That is until I had a pair of manifolds literally crumble and fall apart from heat. Both were affected by cracks but one was intact. That one had many cracks clear through the cast on the bottom and sides of the log. Now I know that running large boost and lots of rich carburation while running wide open for long periods of time was normal for that engine but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen to a street engine after 45 years on the road.
