And I would put the tests in the following order:
Gas Cap (per Frank)
Pinched Distributor wire (where it passes under the cap)
Connections (all) at coil (pull the main wire and look for corrosion in the
tower portion)
Coil (if you have a spare or loaner from a buddy)
Rubber portions of fuel hose
Coil (if you have to buy one)
Fuel Pump (I don't think that is it)

It seems it is the fuel pump, the fuel hose, the fuel pickup strainer, the
coil or the distributor wire is the problem, I'll proceed with various
checks.
