<VV> "BEATRICE" FC quick shifter , air flow bockage

well i got my third  motor for this winter up and running the  other night. 
it is a 110 VB  for the "beatrice " fire dept van.
 i noticed looking thru the side vent louvers cardboard insulation of  some 
kind blocking the air flow. it was not fun removing that crap!. but i bet a 
 lot of greenbriers are running around with this stuff blocking air flow.
so far , this @27,000 mile vehicle has been mostly a pleasure to work on.  
it got new .020 cylinders , octane cut pistons , and reworked heads. i put 
#54  jets in it. i also redid the differential , and looked inside (washed it 
also )  the 4 spd for signs of damage.  this should be a nice driving 
attention  getter soon.
so you better check them FC vent louvers for blockage.
has anyone put a quick shifter on an FC late style shifter?   i  think i 
have , but i  cant remember if it was an ok mod or not.
