Hi everyone,
I respect fully everyone's views on being required to become a member of a local CORSA chapter or not, but here's how I see it.
If being a member of a CORSA Chapter assisted CORSA in anyway then without question I would immediately join a CORSA Chapter. I would, I guess join the CORSA Chapter closest to where I live and as I live in Australia (which as far as I am aware does not currently have a CORSA Chapter) then I guess I would join a Chapter in California (about 14,000 miles from the east coast of Australia).
In the end CORSA will face many challenges in the years ahead as the average age of its membership increases and saddly but perhaps realisticly declines.
Nothing in this world ever stays the same. If joining a local CORSA Chapter, receiving electronic copy of the Communique or paying higher annual fees ensures that CORSA continues then as members we should embrace these changes.
I am a member of 5 other car clubs and all of these clubs will face these realities in coming years. These issues are not confined to car clubs. I have been a Rotarian for over 30 years. Rotary as a service club is a very different service club in 2010 than it was 50 years ago. It has had to change to reflect our rapidly changing world.
CORSA is no different. If live to my mid 80s, and as a non smoker I expect to, (I am 58 years old) then I expect to see CORSA in the next 20 years as an organisation with far fewer members and a geared to operating with this smaller membership. CORSA will be forced to this to survive.
Regards to everyone
