Pete,

How about  a burglur alarm? They have remote alarms for trailer that alert 
you while in a motel for instance... And that stuff you are carrying, 
although worthless to non-Corvairistas, might be stolen and discarded...

I would be willing to donate $$ to help buy alarms.
