<VV> 65-66 turn signal switch

Last year I purchased a new turn signal switch for my 66 Monza.
A year later, almost, I have problems with the left brake light staying on.
Pulled the steering wheel, and noticed some of the brass springs had come
out of place.
Pushed them back into place, and it worked fine.
Used the signals on and off about 10 times and found the same problem.
Including erratic functioning of the signals.
Is this just an isolated incident?
Or are the repro's not up to par?
