Mine took years to fall out and not return to its proper place in the head.
Of course it was 6 years of not everyday driving.
Clack clack clack quiet...several months pass, repeat...
All the other ones that fell out never returned to their seat. I did drive
home to repair after they fell out. On my car the seats never shattered.
But I have repaired many engines where the seats did shatter. The bits find
their way into all three cylinders. All were driven to the repair shop.

Symptom is an annoying clack that comes and goes as the seat dances
around, until it falls out completely, which usually doesn't take
very long at all. Been there done that.
