<VV> No-option cars and trucks

My first new car was a '65 Corvair 500. Not a stripper but it would
qualify as "unusually optioned". I convinced my wife that the 110
engine and 4 speed transmission was a "safety issue" <grin> and she
insisted on the fold down rear seat for a place to put the baby bed (way
before all of the child protection legislation for autos) . We also had
the rare radio-delete option, no seat belts, and single speed wipers.
Those wipers caused many travel delays since we would have a tropical
deluge around 3:00pm every day in Tallahassee. I had to stop and wait
for the rain to slow enough for the wipers to be effective.
We managed to keep our monthly payments under $50 a month -- serious
money for us when Penny's take-home from her job with the Florida
Employment Commission was $150/month and my graduate research assistant
stipend was $200 a month.
Door jam switches? We deen't need no steenking door jam switches. :)

So, I guess my rampside is a "stripper". No door jam switches (like
500s),
bench seat (one less than 500s) <GRIN>, two speed wiper (500s?), no
washer
(500s?), no arm rests (I think 500s, not sure), no interior door panels
(less than a 500 would have), visor only on driver side (500s had two I
think), no BU lights, other stuff that escapes me just now. BUT, it IS
a
truck and does everything a truck should do. It DOES have a 4 speed
tranny
and a "stump puller" gear in first. Think - shift to 2nd half way
through
the intersection! Oh, no seat belts when built.
I doubt that there is an answer to the question about how many
"strippers"
were built.
