Hey, check nthe speaker wires into the radio, you may be distorting them when you push the radio in all the way.

Help!! Why will my radio not play?  I put an AM-FM radio in my 69 Conv. and 
 am getting only about five percent sound.  This is an org. AM-FM radio out 
f another Corvair.  I had it rebuilt and it works fine outside of the car. 
he speaker is brand new and works fine.  Brand new AM-FM antenna also. 
hen I put the radio in the dash and tighten the nuts to hold it in place 
he sound goes down to about five percent.  If I take the nuts off and move 
he radio by hand backwards about a 1/4 in.  the radio plays fine.  Then 
ush it back in place and put the nuts back in and nothing.  Has anybody ran 
nto this problem?  Please give me some advice.  Thanks, Mike
