A lot more fun than my father, who never wanted to pay for anything he
didn't want - "Why'd they put all that chrome crap on it ? I don't want
that."
He was an aircraft inspector, and could care les about anything that was
"stuck to the ground" and wouldn't
fall out the sky with a minor or even a major failure.
He felt that aircraft were less forgiving, and made sure they were in top
shape, but his cars would be run into the ground, since "what's the worst
that could happen ?
He worked on the LEM (Lunar Excursion Module), I have the "Certificate of
Appreciation" for that here somewhere.
I learned, too late, that you should take car of cars even if they can't fly
(and especially since mine often did, like going over a popular RR X-ing
where I lost an axle shaft ! Now that was fun !!!!)
