Bottom line, the 'flash point' statement is totally fallacious. You really can't set fire to R134a, even if you tried, without another source of flame (and a damn hot one at that!) to keep it going. Take that flame away, it goes out INSTANTLY! In fact, R134a can be used as a fire extinguishing agent!
Propane, needless to say, is a very good fuel.

Bob and all, I have been running EnviroSafe in my 65 Monza for the 7 years I
have had it AC'd.
I checked the MSDS's once. You and others might be interested to know that ES
has a
higher flashpoint that 134A. I interpret that to mean that 134A ignites sooner
than ES.
I stopped worrying about it being "unsafe" at that point. Besides Corvairs are
"unsafe"
anyway aren't they??? :-)
