Well, given that R134a is an HFC, it takes a LOT of temperature to make it into something bad, unlikely in a car, more likely in an electric hermetic compressor, like in your fridge or window air conditioner. And, unlike propane, it doesn't burn! AT ALL!

Yup, it's good stuff. It doesn't turn into a poisonous gas when exposed to

elevated temps like R134. Its downside is it's cheap and DuPont can't

patent it and charge exorbitant prices for it.

                                                                        B"H

Bob: I don't think this is a problem. The ES12a (hydrocarbon gas) has a

higher

ignition temp than both R12 or R134a, and is non-toxic. Also, it requires

lower

pressure on the A/C components and less horsepower from the engine to run

the

compressor.

As I said, I ran it without problems in my other car, and I like the idea

that

it's non-corrosive when contacting moisture...Bill

Isn't Envorosafe propane based?

And wouldn't that be highly dangerous to use around spark ignition engines?

And wouldn't it be unsafe to use in Corvairs?
