start at the pedal , work your way back on the cable. you might just find a 
 cracked plastic pulley under the dash. look close , it may move around out 
of  sight when not pressed. you can get a look at the pulley down by the 
floor by  removing the short tunnel inside the car , OR better yet , drop the 
tunnel under  the car and look at every inch of it.it helps to have a helper 
press the pedal  while you look at it under the car.
