All: I have not looked on e-Bay about this car. I assume it is a mid-engine
Autodynamics Deserter GS. If so, it was designed for the Corvair motor.
With the proper adaptor to the (probably) Porsche transaxle, should be a
near drop in instillation.
See Aug 69 C&D I think. Also Car Craft Sept '69.
Autodynamics also offered for sale a Formula V, and a Lotus Elan
look-a-like, which is a very rare kit car for the street. At some point
they also did a Super V, if I remember correctly. They were out of
Massachusetts.
Two other things. Don't know the circumstances, but the same car was
marketed by couple east coast outfits by the late '80's. One of them was in
Rhode Island, another in New Jersey. I cannot tell from my files if they
were consecutive or concurrent companies. There was also a rear-engine
Deserted GT at one point, but I've not dug into my file about it. There was
a article in the Communique not to long ago on one of the GT's.
I think there were a couple chat-rooms about the Deserter at one time.
Historically Yours
James Rice

"One of the finest Deserters I've ever seen is on ebay now. Too bad it's not
Corvair powered."
But it sure could be made to be Corvair powered!? Provided there is
sufficient room for the longer engine...? And indeed, if I bought it, that's
exactly what I would do...
